Next Gen NCLEX: What You Need to Know

As the healthcare industry continues to advance and evolve, so too do the licensure exams for nurses. The Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) is a new exam being developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) that incorporates new, research-based approaches to testing competency in nursing.

The NGN exam aims to better prepare nurses for today’s rapidly changing healthcare landscape, focusing on skills like clinical judgment, critical thinking, and clinical reasoning.

When will the Next Gen NCLEX start?

Starting from April 1st, 2023, the Next Generation NCLEX exam will be conducted by the NCSBN. Every individual who takes the test will be given the Next Generation NCLEX exam, irrespective of their date of graduation from nursing school.
